On Aristotle and Economics

چکیده
In this paper I offer a synthesis of previous contributions on Aristotle’s economic thought. Aristotle dealt with the economic issues in his practical philosophy. He thus considered ‘the economic’ within an ethical and political frame. This vision is coherent with Aristotle’s specific ontological analysis of ‘the economic’. In this paper, I consider this ontology and the consequences of it for ethics, politics and the epistemology of economics. Resumen: En este trabajo realizo una síntesis de contribuciones previas sobre el pensamiento de Aristóteles acerca de la economía. Aristóteles se ocupa de los asuntos económicos en su filosofía práctica. Por eso, considera “lo económico” en un marco ético y político. Esta visión es coherente con su específica ontología de lo económico. En este trabajo considero dicha ontología y sus consecuencias para la ética, la política y la epistemología de la economía.
